Now celebrating its 46th year, Julie’s Touch of Silver Dance Studio has built a proud tradition of excellence in competitive dance and baton twirling under the direction of Julie Seckar-Anderson. Based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, our award-winning competitive program gives dedicated students the opportunity to train, perform, and compete at the local, state, regional, national, and international levels. From individual competitors to dance, dance-twirl, and corps teams, our athletes are challenged to strengthen their technique, artistry, confidence, teamwork, and performance skills while representing Touch of Silver with pride and sportsmanship.

  • Our Advanced Jazz and Ballet program represents the highest level of dance training at Julie’s Touch of Silver. Designed for experienced dancers who are ready to challenge themselves technically and artistically, placement in these classes is based on instructor recommendation or audition, with consideration given to each dancer’s age, ability, experience, and overall readiness.

    Ballet is an essential foundation for advanced dance training, which is why students participating in Intermediate or Advanced Jazz are also required to study ballet. Ballet classes emphasize proper technique, alignment, flexibility, balance, strength, and control while continuing to develop turns, leaps, jumps, and more complex combinations. Students also learn lyrical and ballet choreography for performance throughout the season.

    Advanced Jazz builds on that technical foundation with increasingly challenging choreography, movement, musicality, performance quality, and versatility. Together, the two disciplines allow dancers to progress at a higher level while developing the strength, precision, confidence, and artistry required of accomplished performers.

    Advanced dancers may also have opportunities to participate in production routines and other choreography created for performances and competitions throughout the season.

    A Tradition of Performance & Competition

    For decades, Touch of Silver dancers have taken their training beyond the studio, performing and competing on local, state, regional, and national stages. Past performance opportunities have included Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando, the nationally televised Big Bay Balloon Parade in San Diego, and halftime at the Holiday Bowl, along with high school and collegiate halftime shows, community celebrations, charitable events, pageants, and parades.

    Touch of Silver dancers have also earned numerous local, state, regional, national, and world titles across multiple age divisions. The studio’s competitive history includes National and World Danceline championships for its Primary, Junior, Senior, and College teams, including a seven-year championship run by the Senior Danceline.

    That tradition of excellence continues today, with advanced dancers carrying forward the technique, commitment, teamwork, and love of performance that have defined Julie’s Touch of Silver for more than four decades.

Performance opportunities

Annual Recitals

Julie’s Touch of Silver celebrates each season with its Annual Recital in June, bringing together students from beginner through advanced levels for a special showcase of their hard work and growth throughout the year. As one of the studio’s signature performances, the recital gives students the opportunity to take the stage and share what they’ve learned with family, friends, and the Touch of Silver community.

Parades

Each year, Julie's Touch of Silver Twirlers participate in various Holiday parades throughout the months of November and December.

Summer students are invited to march in 4th of July Parades held in both Oshkosh and Omro. Students eligible for parade participation must be currently enrolled in a baton class (or combo class) with at least one full year of twirling experience.

Community Events

Members of the Touch of Silver Twirling Corps have opportunities to take their talents beyond the competition floor and perform throughout the community and across Wisconsin. Throughout the year, Touch of Silver is invited to participate in a variety of special events and performances, including EAA’s Christmas in the Air, halftime shows, community celebrations, parades, charitable events, and social organizations

Competitions

Students participating in our Twirling Corps and Advanced Dance programs have the opportunity to take their training to the competitive stage throughout the year. Our teams compete in both baton twirling and dance at the local, state, regional, national, and world levels, giving students the opportunity to challenge themselves, grow as performers, and proudly represent Julie’s Touch of Silver alongside their teammates.

private lessons

Private lessons are available for students seeking individualized instruction and focused training. One-on-one sessions allow instructors to work closely with students on specific skills, technique, choreography, performance quality, and competition preparation based on each student’s individual goals and needs. Private lesson availability is limited and scheduled directly with instructors.
